We are so stoked to host the first-ever solo showcase by the glassblowing sensei Ben Birney, aka @futureglassart. When we first met Ben in October of 2016 at Glass Roots Art Show in Madison, Wisconsin he made a vivid and everlasting impression. Ben has an incredible sense of composure and radiant wisdom that is undeniable and recognized by everyone who is lucky enough to cross his path to borosilicate nirvana. We’ve also had the pleasure of watching other artists interact with Ben over a few epic years at East Coast Melt. The amount of respect he receives from his peers when they recognize the wealth of knowledge and experience he obtains is incredible. We have watched countless professional glassblowers and world-renowned artists gather around Ben, like a Boy-Scout troop, to listen to his stories and expertise. Without question, Ben is one of the best teachers and sources of knowledge, especially for emerging glass artists. On Saturday, November 4th we will roll out the red carpet for this man who has humbly avoided the undivided attention he deserves. For the first time in his 23-year career, Ben Birney, Future Glass Art, will showcase a “self-centered” body of work, featuring solo & collaborative work with:

Immediately following the gallery showcase, there will be a PREP DROP in the studio!!! Artists and collectors will have the opportunity to secure their own DNA cane, milli, tubing, etc - Ben’s prep is notoriously great to work with! Expect lots of extracurricular activities including raffles, giveaways, stash & dashes and of course… a live demonstration by the professor himself! 

If you're able to join us in-person we encourage you to bring out special items from your collection to share with your fellow enthusiasts at our after party. Included with your in-person ticket is access to our studio and lounge space which will be jamming with live demos by Ben Birney and will feature the notorious hash bar by Helios Collective, heady brews, food, special guests, good vibes and more!
